How does the bail bond process work?
Bond is to ensure a defendant's appearance at trial. If the defendant is unable to post his own bond, he may hire the service of a bail bonding company. The bail bonding company will charge a non-refundable fee to the defendant based upon the amount of bond set by the Court. AAA Bail Bonds charges a non-refundable fee of 10% of the bond . On July 14th 2014 the state modified the code requiring all bonding companies to charge 10%.
Example: If bond is set at $5,000.00 then the non-refundable fee charged by AAA Bail Bonds is $500.00.
